Abstract

Cerebral Palsy is a fast growing concern in the United States. Already the most prevalent physical disability in the country, it is becoming increasingly more common as scientific and medical developments allow for the survival of increasing amounts of premature infants. In this website, information regarding the definition of Cerebral Palsy, its prevalence, characteristics, types, possible causes, available treatments, possible preventions, intervention strategies for parents and teachers, as well as an insight into the quality of living of those with the disability is provided in hopes that the community can become more aware of this increasingly prevalent condition. Although many of the answers, such as the direct causes of Cerebral Palsy and a conclusive cure, are still not fully developed, it is important for the general populace to have knowledge of this disability if there is ever to be hope in lowering its incidence rate. If a common understanding is created and general education is established, then future scientific and medical advancements can be received with a greater sense of comprehension among the general populace, and perhaps with support and excitement at the implications it may provide for those who have the disability.
